- Townsville. Seated, from left: Francis (Frank) Burke, Eileen Ryan and May Ryan (sister of Eileen); Standing from left: possibly a cousin of Frank Burke, John (Jack) Ryan. The following family history information is provided by donor - "John (Jack) Ryan and Eileen's brother, a tailor, later killed in a motorbike accident. Another brother, James Ryan, was killed in action during World War I. Frank was a policeman until settling with his family at Upper Daradgee, Innisfail about 1929 as a sugar cane farmer. Frank and Eileen Burke had eight children; Patricia (1921-2019) married Norman Valentine St Leon with children Mark, Jane and Anthony; Mary (1923 - living) married John Oakes. Julie (1925-1951) married Reginald Sleeth; Elizabeth 'Betty' (1927 - ?) married Early Stubbin; Margaret 'Peggy' (1929 - ?) married Kevin Gaggin; Richard 'Dick' (1932 - living); Ethel Mercy 'Effie' (1934 - living) married Graham Troy; Vivienne (1936 - living) married Frederick Renton. Each daughter qualified as a registered nurse with the exception of Vivienne who qualified as a primary school teacher".
