Content Summary:
The Royal Danish Deep Sea Expedition, led by Anton Bruun, left Plymouth on the Galathea in October 1950. Bennett joined the expedition in December 1951 for three weeks while it was in Australian waters. She was the only woman among a crew of 113.
Immediate source of acquisition:
The papers were donated by Dr Bennett to the National Library under the Taxation Incentives for the Arts Scheme in 1996 and 1997. A further consignment was received in September 2000.
