Content Summary:

Temby joined the Perth law firm Northmore Hale Davey and Leake in 1966 and was admitted as a partner in 1968. Temby dissolved his partnership in December 1978.

The series contains a mixture of copied and original correspondence, notes and other papers maintained by Temby as working files during his time with Northmore Hale Davey and Leake, as well as some of his personal files. The material reflects the broad range of Temby's involvement in various organisations, including the Law Society of Western Australia, the Legal Assistance Scheme, the Legal Aid Commission of Western Australia and the Local Government Association of Western Australia, and occasional law lectures given at the University of Western Australia.

The original arrangement and the titles of the files have been preserved by the Library.

Immediate source of acquisition:
The papers were donated by Ian Temby to the Library under the Tax Incentives for the Arts Scheme in 1996.
