Comprising letters, publications, schedules, printed material, press clippings, photographs and ephemera relating principally to Moffatt Oxenbould's professional life as Artistic Director of The Australian Opera. In January he was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia. There were some tensions between Moffatt Oxenbould and General Manager Patrick Veitch, and much of 1985 was devoted to the preparation of The Australian Opera Management's paper Future Options - The Australian Opera - response to this paper within and outside the Company and the setting up of a Study for the Australia Council headed by Rod Cameron of Coopers and Lybrand and Kim Williams CEO of the Australian Film Commission. All material relating to the Options Paper and the Inquiry is contained in a supplementary 1985 file.
