"Adrienne Brune was born Phyllis Caroline Brune on October 27th, 1892, probably in Melbourne. She made her first stage appearance at the Princess Theatre in Melbourne as Mustard Seed in 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' in 1904. She made her first appearance on the London stage in 'Polly' at the Kingsway Theatre December, 1922. This was followed by a series of West End sucesses. In 1935 she returned to Australia to play in 'Ball at the Savoy'. She then returned lto England in late 1936. She would appear to have to have worked often in musical comedies." - Karl Levett, 2012.
