This small series contains copies of the report and evidence of the Royal Commission on the Constitution, pamphlets by D. H. Drummond, Constitutional changes in Australia (1926) and J. H. Keating, Reasons for a constitutional convention, correspondence with Sir John Peden concerning the membership of the Commission (August 1927) and with J. A. Lyons concerning the Commission's recommendations (February 1932) and a small number of newscuttings (July-August 1927).

Comprises Files 1-5 (Items 1-23).

Immediate source of acquisition:
The bulk of the collection was presented to the National Library by Sir John Latham in December 1963, a few months before his death. In November 1974 the Library purchased some further papers from a secondhand book dealer. They comprised family letters and photographs, some diaries and papers relating to the High Court. These papers have been amalgamated into the original collection.
