- In May 1962 Sawer travelled to Nigeria where he was employed as a private counsel to the Nigerian Government on the dual constitutional questions of the establishment of a fourth province in the west of the country (later Benin), and the foundation of a state bank. Included in this series are draft and typescript opinions prepared by Sawer, as well as correspondence, notes, judgments, legislation and other papers relating to the two cases.

- The papers were donated to the Library by Sawer and his wife Nancy in four instalments in 1971, 1995, 1996 and 1998.
