Content Summary:
In 1978 Sawer was engaged by the Perth legal firm Keall, Brinsden and Co. to provide advice to their client, the Nomads Group of Aborigines. The Group's claim related to the 1905 repeal of Section 70 of the Western Australian Constitution Act 1889, which had provided for the one percent reparation of the gross revenue of Western Australia to the Aborigines Protection Board. Filed here is a small amount of correspondence, typed briefs and opinions and other supporting documents, applying to Sawer's role in the case.
Immediate source of acquisition:
The papers were donated to the Library by Sawer and his wife Nancy in four instalments in 1971, 1995, 1996 and 1998.
