Content Summary:

When he became a member in 1948, Copland became the first Australian to be elected to the American Philosophical Association (A.P.A.), which was founded in 1727.

The later include two by Copland. They are 'Economic policy and economic development in Australia from 1945' (published later in Proceedings of the American Philosophical Association, vol. 98, no. 2 and 'The underdeveloped countries and the structure of the western economy' (published later in Proceedings, vol. 100, no. 5, October 1956, p. 430-4. It also contains Copland's Certificate of Membership.
