Australian Industries Development Association, 1954-1968

Component identifier:
Series 74
Content Summary:

The Australian Industries Development Association (A.I.D.A.) was formed in 1951 from the Australian Industries Protection League. It was a non-profit association of private enterprise organisations promoting national development through population expansion, balanced development, and immigration. Although not a director, the evidence of Series 74 suggests that Copland followed A.I.D.A. activities with interest.

The series is a small accumulation of correspondence and printed matter. The former covers 1954-1956, 1967, and the three main correspondents are A.I.D.A. officials, George G. Foletta, C.P. Puzey, and Gerald Packer. The printed matter includes Directors reports 1956, 1963-1967, annual reports 1961-1962, and some miscellaneous A.I.D.A. publications.

Immediate source of acquisition:
Lady Copland presented the personal papers of Sir Douglas Copland to the National Library in September 1973. Additions to the collection were received from the Copland Family between 1977 and 1981.
