In recognition of his work during the Depression in 1933 Copland was made a Companion of the Order of St. Michael and St. George. The official Warrant and Statutes of the Order, together with some congratulatory correspondence, 1967-1970, refers to gatherings of the Victorian members of the Order.
Copland was again honoured in 1950 when he was decorated a Knight of the Order of the British Empire. Series 93 includes some correspondence from the Chancellor of the Orders of the Knighthood, 1956, and the Warrant certifying the honour.
- Immediate source of acquisition:
- Lady Copland presented the personal papers of Sir Douglas Copland to the National Library in September 1973. Additions to the collection were received from the Copland Family between 1977 and 1981.
