- Flying doctor was originally conceived by Noonan as a television screenplay (see series 7/2-14) but was eventually produced as a BBC radio series (see series 6/57-58, 65-67). Noonan later wrote a series of six flying doctor adventure novels for children. The first novel, Flying doctor, was published by Hodder and Stoughton in 1961.
