Tipped in are two pencil drawings of C.J. Dennis, one of which depicts him as one of his own Glugs, the other as the ''umble Den walking up from Yarra Glen to his mountain shack'.

Both drawings are by Hal Gye.

Also tipped in is photograph of Hal Gye standing by Dennis's grave in Box Hill. The headstone reads: 'C.J. Dennis 'Den' loved husband of Biddy'.

Immediate source of acquisition:
The collection was purchased from Harry Chaplin in 1981.
