Tipped into this copy is autograph letter from C.J. Dennis to Fred Shenstone, 2pp. 4to. Dated 2 March 1920. 'Dear Mr Shenstone, I have copyrighted Jim of the hills and the copyright number is 8169. With admirable patience I still await my completed December returns which you said you would try to send me a fortnight ago.

In making of books is much labour

And weariness, too, of the mind;

But the practice of loving your neighbour

Comes hard when returns are behind.

Yours truly, C.J. Dennis.

'P.S. Do you think it worth while letting John Lane know that the 'Bloke' film will shortly be shown in U.S.A. If it is a success, as seems probably, there may be a rush for the book. C.J.D.'.

All the preceding copies have 4 pages of advertisements. They also have the green A end papers.
