- An exercise book in similar format to the Glugs Work Book with his label on front Wages Book. The preliminary pages have been extracted. Inscribed: 'God Stone the Crows! Dear Harry Chaplin: Never, right through the ages from the days of Homer to the present has one ever heard of a poet keeping a wages-book, and paying the wages, too, if you please. This book, from which Den has deleted the first four pages, was the record of the money's paid by him to the various timber hands employed by him in the disastrous enterprise known as Dennis and Smedley's Saw Mill.
