Original fawn cloth. Inscribed: 'For Harry Chaplin with my personal, ornithological, encyclopaedic and Sentimental-blokish, benediction - Alec H. Chisholm, Sydney, May 1952. - Which is a pretty stout collection of adjectives for stiff fingers to cope with on a Damned Cold Day'.

Tipped into this copy is autograph letter from Guy Innes, to Chaplin. Written from London Hospital, Whitechapel, August 21, 1951. Amongst other matters he writes about the sketch of Den's life which was published in Canada, and for which he received ten guineas, but that he has not ever seen a copy in print.
