With this copy is letter from Professor Morris Miller to Chaplin. He replies to my query about In the garden of Arden attributed to C.J. Dennis,*and listed by him in Australian literature, and that he cannot recollect the circumstances that caused the entry to be made and 'is trying to salvage something from the realm of amnesia'. Also enclosed is letter from Guy Innes to Alec Chisholm, which is full of Dennis reminiscences.
Accompanying the above is budget of correspondence to and from Alec Chisholm when the book was in preparation. There are a number of photographs of Dennis interest, not all of which were included in the book. There are also three letters from Mrs Dennis to the author in which she makes suggestions for alterations. Finally she wrote that the book is 'well turned out, good print and excellent illustrations. I wish you every success with it'.
