First edition. Original red cloth. Inscribed: 'Dear Harry Chaplin. Den used to say that a kindly act was like tossing a stone in a pool of water. The ripples being far reaching. Sincerely yours, Margaret Herron'.

Together with autograph letter from Mrs Dennis to Chaplin in which she complains about a T.V. talk about Dennis. '...I thought it very poor. Did you see it? One remark was made about Den that caused a lot of comment among my friends. I fear the A.B.C. will be getting some letters. I thought it uncalled for...' She writes in her letter that she is sending a letter which she has received from John Masefield. Enclosed also is the autograph letter from John Masefield to Mrs Dennis. '...We enjoyed the drives and the happy stay with you, and all the birds, brooks and flowers...You were both very nice to us, and we shall remember you with gratitude...'
