Journal/notebooks of John Cotton, Feb. 1831-Apr. 1833 and May 1833-Nov. 1835. The volumes contain descriptions and water-colours of artworks he had seen exhibited; summaries and illustrations of lectures of the Zoological Society attended by Cotton; copies of poetry by Wordsworth, Byron, Spencer and others; comments on current events, a cholera epidemic, and nature observations including illustrations of insects and birds. Both volumes are indexed by Cotton. The notebooks are signed by Ellis Rowan and Maie Casey
