Major publications, research and writing., 1969-2013

Component identifier:
Subseries 2.3
Content Summary:
Significant writing and research projects undertaken by Giurgola, including publications on Louis I. Kahn, and proposed books about other architects or architectural subjects. Romaldo Giurgola and Louis Kahn were friends, and teaching colleagues at the Graduate School of Fine Arts at the University of Pennsylvania during the 1950s. Giurgola's book on Kahn [co-written with Jaimini Mehta], was first published in 1975 and subsequently translated into a number of other languages. Other writing projects generated substantial bodies of work, but were not completed for publication [possibly because of the time commitment Giurgola had to make for the Australian Parliament House project]. Some files include substantial correspondence related to the specific research and writing project.
