Project in Cyprus, 1994-1995
- Component identifier:
- Subseries 4.2.4
- Content Summary:
- In April 1994, Romaldo Giurgola was initially approached as to whether he might be interested in serving as a "Distinguished Juror from Abroad" for a competition for the design of a new building for the House of Representatives of the Republic of Cyprus. Further correspondence advised that the conditions of the competition had been altered and that the competition would be local instead of an international one, limiting the composition of the Jury to Cypriots. Consequently, Romaldo Giurgola (as Design Partner of Mitchell/Giurgola Thorp Architects, Canberra) collaborated with a Cypriot firm [unable to locate firm name as of November 2023] to enter a design in the competition.
