After obtaining his doctorate Osmond left Australia to take up a Fulbright (Post-Doctoral) Fellowship within the Department of Sociology at the University of Pennsylvania in 1982-1983. During this time Osmond researched Australian-American intellectual relations in the inter-war years and attended advanced seminars on political sociology. This series consists of correspondence relating to the scholarship, application details and other administrative matters.

- The papers were bequeathed to the Library by Warren Osmond and transferred by his partner Juliet Richter in two instalments in December 2000 and August 2001, with the assistance of Cassandra Pybus.
