- Jimmy Brockett, Stivens' novel about Australian politics, was published in 1951 by Britannicus Liber, London. In 1948, under the title The entrepreneur, the story had shared third prize in the Sydney Morning Herald novel contest. Contained in this series are reviews, publicity material and bound typescript copies of the book. There is also a synopsis by Damien Parer for a proposed movie based on the book (1984).
- Immediate source of acquisition:
- The papers were purchased from Stivens in several small instalments from 1971 to 1973 and in one large instalment from Stivens' companion, Juanita Cragen, in 1999.
