Notebooks and address books

- This series comprises a number of Stivens' notebooks together with several address books, some of which were used to record details of articles and short stories sent to publishers. The notebooks contain jottings of ideas for stories and cuttings, mostly related to writing, including markets in the United States and Canada. Stivens was a keen gardener and there is one notebook containing cuttings and notes on this topic. There are also several telephone notepads, which were in Stivens' study at the time of his death.
- Immediate source of acquisition:
- The papers were purchased from Stivens in several small instalments from 1971 to 1973 and in one large instalment from Stivens' companion, Juanita Cragen, in 1999.
