Content Summary:

In later years, Stivens' eyesight deteriorated and, until he had an operation to remove cataracts, it became his practice to dictate letters, stories, etc on to mini-cassette tapes for transcription. Contained in this series are a number of these tapes for the period c1977-1982.

Immediate source of acquisition:
The papers were purchased from Stivens in several small instalments from 1971 to 1973 and in one large instalment from Stivens' companion, Juanita Cragen, in 1999.
