The following documents were originally inserted into a pink-covered notebook labelled "Tuross River Estuary" in file 281.

"Water management act 2000: What it means for New South Wales" by News South Wales Department of Land and Water Conservation, March 2001.

"An overview of the proposed new water legislation for New South Wales" by New South Wales Department of Land and Water Conservation, February 2000. Annotated and labelled on front as "Costin".

Handwritten notes regarding early role of Costin in water users association; water levels in Tuross River; conversations with Paul Corbett and Don McPhee; observations and remarks relating to Tuross river; irrigation relating to Tuross River, 2000 - 2004.

Photocopied correspondence with one note and one report. Correspondence includes two letters from Alec Costin - one letter to Mark Bice (annotated), and the other to Don McPhee. Both letters make recommendations on water sharing and river corridor management for the lower Turross valley, from 12 September 2000 – 12 February 2002. Also includes one brief report "Draft restriction levels - Lower Tuross River".

Reports and notes showing hydrological data for the South coast of New South Wales, 1996 - 2004. Reports include river flow graphs and tables (some annotated) by the New South Wales Department of Land and Water Conservation, Department of Sustainable Natural Resources, and Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Natural Resources. Some reports have notes attached. Also includes One rainfall graph (with one duplicate) from the Commonwealth Bureau of Meteorology.

This large and diverse collection was compiled by Alec Costin then organised and catalogued by the eScholarship Research Centre at The University of Melbourne from 2017-2019. The collection was then transferred to the National Library of Australia in 2020.
