Content Summary:

Unidentified black-and-white photographs. Subjects appear to include alpine herbfield with rock on slope, dog on rock in similar herbfield, ground-hugging plants in-between stony pavement [feldmark?] with mountain in background.

Unidentified black-and-white photographs. Includes three aerial photos of alpine landscapes, one with cirque-shaped lake and one photo (taken from ground) of snow patches, water (creek or bog?), grasses, rocks, herbs.

On-the-ground photographs. Subjects include, inter alia, craggy rocks, snowfields, rocky slopes, timbered slopes, snow gums, boulders, herbfields, flowers in herbfield, road, male on horse, snow on rocky slopes, snow-covered slopes, body of water [lake?], two males using motion picture camera. One photo (of three males standing on boulder) is numbered 70/392/10 on reverse. One photo (closeup of ground-hugging plants adjacent to rocky ground) has textured print surface and was previously glued down. Grouped together.

This large and diverse collection was compiled by Alec Costin then organised and catalogued by the eScholarship Research Centre at The University of Melbourne from 2017-2019. The collection was then transferred to the National Library of Australia in 2020.
