Originally enclosed in annotated white NSW National Parks and Wildlife service envelope. Annotation reads: "Photograph No. 27 28, 29 30 (3 photo) 31".
Collection 27: subjects include eroded slope with trees on top and water at the base, river with boulders, river with rocky outcrops at bottom of steep densely wooded and steep valley. Photos numbered on reverse. Includes duplicates. Some photos stuck together.
Collection 29: photos show mainly landscapes and buildings in an alpine landscape - apparently in the Kosciusko region. Subjects include male working on a research plot; snow patch and stream; large body of water [lake, dam?] with road and bridge; watery ground [bog?]; snow covered slopes. Photos numbered on reverse; includes duplicates.
Collection 30: black-and-white photographs, numbered on reverse 7, 8, 9, 11 and 12. Subjects include landscapes, leafless trees, rocks, tussock grass, unmade road, tall herb. Includes some duplicates.
Collection 31: subjects include build-up of snow behind human-made barrier, male on skis, fallen tree, snow-covered slopes, various types of forest (trees with both light and dark coloured bark, some without leaves) in snow covered areas, research plots in both forested and open areas. Photos numbered on reverse and collection includes many duplicates.

- This large and diverse collection was compiled by Alec Costin then organised and catalogued by the eScholarship Research Centre at The University of Melbourne from 2017-2019. The collection was then transferred to the National Library of Australia in 2020.
