Content Summary:

Originally enclosed in annotated white NSW National Parks and Wildlife service envelope. Annotation reads: "Photographs No. 33, 34, 35". Photos appear to have been shot in an Australian alpine region [Kosciuszko?].

Collection 33: most of the photos are stuck together and cannot be identified. Subjects of identified photos include trunks of young trees or shrubs with holes, group of buildings (Snowy Mountains scheme township?), telegraph poles, rock covered slope, densely wooded slope.

Collection 34: all of the photos are stuck together. Top-facing photos show valley with unmade road, mountains in background, slope in foreground with one area covered with dense vegetation (including trees/tall shrubs) adjacent to another area covered with tall herbs. Photo at bottom numbered on reverse.

Collection 35: all of the photos are stuck together. Top-facing photo shows rocky stream. Photo at bottom numbered on reverse.

Immediate source of acquisition:
This large and diverse collection was compiled by Alec Costin then organised and catalogued by the eScholarship Research Centre at The University of Melbourne from 2017-2019. The collection was then transferred to the National Library of Australia in 2020.
