Subjects include albatross, large flock of penguins, treeless landscapes. Three photos later appeared as Figures 2A (male standing on knoll amongst bare peat and Poa foliosa tussocks) 4A (male standing in tongue of vegetation in between bare peat and erosion pavement) and 5A (male standing with bare areas on the ridge in the background) in the journal article by Selkirk, Costin et al in file 194. These two photos were taken in 1958, according to article. Includes:
Contact print (set 1) attached to matching negative set, both numbered as 41. Contact print set numbered in subject line as 41 (and 2/4 on reverse). Images match photographs in this file. Images are paired, suggesting were shot in stereo, but second image is always darker (less exposed?). Includes three images which later appeared in Selkirk, Costin et al.
Contact print (set 2) attached to matching negative set, both numbered as 41. Contact print set numbered in subject line as 41 (but only as imprint - no ink visible - and labelled as "2.4: 41" on reverse). Also numbered as 41 in one image frame. Negative and proof images match photos in this inventory item (see below). Images are paired, suggesting were shot in stereo, but second image is always darker (less exposed?). Includes three images which later appeared in Selkirk, Costin et al. Contains only duplicates of images in contact print set 1 but some missing.
Black-and-white photographs, labelled and numbered. Each photo numbered on reverse as 2/5.6/1 and "41". Photos match images in contact print sets numbered 41. Includes three images which later appeared in Selkirk, Costin et al. Photo images are of good quality but with small white dots [due errors in processing?]. Most photos also have tiny pock marks, possibly caused by print sticking to photo above.
Black-and-white photographs originally housed in buff Macquarie University envelope labelled "No number on film: soaked apart: photographed: 40". Envelope also numbered in the centre at front as 40. Photos numbered on reverse as 40/-. Includes three images (numbered as 41/7, 41/14, 41/15) which were later published in Selkirk, Costin et al. Also includes a possible stereo pair (numbered as 41/7 and 41/8) but images are stained. Also includes one slip of lined paper labelled "41: 41: 38".
Black-and-white photographs originally housed in buff Macquarie University envelope, labelled "Photographed: 41". Also includes a smaller buff labelled Macquarie University envelope. Photos all stuck together and to the smaller envelope, obscuring the labelling on both the prints and the envelope. Bottom photo numbered as 41/6.
