Content Summary:

On 1 January 1923, Edwards took up duties as a parish priest when he was appointed as Rector of the Church of Saint Augustine, at Bulli, south of Sydney. He remained there for three years. This series comprises a small amount of correspondence, papers relating to Edwards' appointment and copies of the church newsletter The Parish Messenger, which he edited (Feb 1923 Vol 1, No. 1 - Mar 1924 Vol 2, No. 12).

In 1925 Edwards took three months leave from his parish duties to act in the position of Diocesan Director of Education in the Sydney Diocese. One of his duties was editing the monthly publication The Trowel, the Australian church journal of Christian education. Copies of the issues he edited (Vol IV, No. 2-6, Jan-May 1926) are included in this series.
