Content Summary:

Contained in this series is a small group of drafts and typescripts of addresses given by Edwards, together with related cuttings. There is the text of an address setting out his objections to the views expressed in a play by Clemence Dane entitled 'A bill of divorcement', which was staged in 1932 by the Arts and Literature Society in Canberra. Edwards considered the play 'a piece of divorce propaganda'. There are also typescripts of radio broadcasts he made in 1941 and 1953 and the eulogy he gave at the funeral of his close friend, Sir Richard Boyer in 1961.

Immediate source of acquisition:
The papers of William John Edwards were donated to the Library by his son-in-law, Arthur Pulford, in 2003. The papers had been in the possession of Edwards' daughter, Jill Pulford, since 1967 and came to the Library following her death.
