Content Summary:

This series comprises a small group of papers relating to Russell Drysdale's art. There are rough sketches on loose pages and three undated short stories written and illustrated by Drysdale, one entitled 'The tale of Mr Drydesdale' [sic], and two written for Maisie entitled 'The bird woman of Bouddi: a wildlife documentary', and 'Life with Ginger' [Maisie's cat]. There are also examples of reproductions of Drysdale's works on book jackets, cards, programs and calendars, auction catalogues in which his works were listed for sale; printed notes about his art; and a undated conservation report for his painting, Death adder.

Immediate source of acquisition:
The papers of Maisie Drysdale were donated to the Library in 2001 by Russell Drysdale's daughter, Lynne Clarke, under the Cultural Gifts Program.
