Content Summary:

Carril Symon, the fourth son of Sir Josiah and Lady Symon, was born in 1893. He attended Brasenose College at Oxford in 1913-1914. Following the outbreak of World War I he joined the British Army serving with the 2nd Battalion, South Lancashire Regiment.

Other papers in the series include a typescript narrative of a trip taken by Carril in 1923; an autograph book; and correspondence and legal papers relating to his father's will and estate.

Immediate source of acquisition:
The papers were donated to the library in 2007 by Mrs Mary Symon (wife of Charles C. Symon and grandson of Sir Josiah Symon).
