Marea Prerauer had a successful career as a soprano in Europe in the 1950s, and sang under her maiden name, Marea Wolkowsky. This series comprises contracts, programs, Eisteddfod certificates and judging comments, cuttings of newspaper stories and reviews, some congratulatory correspondence and correspondence relating to auditions, some papers relating to Curt, and shared personal papers such as travel documents. Also includes recordings of Marea singing.
The programs were loose and have been roughly grouped chronologically
- Immediate source of acquisition:
- Marea Prerauer's nephew Alyn Tilleard donated the papers to the National Library of Australia in two instalments in 2006 and 2007. The National Library of Australia's Curator of Music Robyn Holmes and music historian Graeme Skinner packed the papers and undertook some arrangement and listing of the collection.
