Draft of a work with the working titles 'Who took the picture' or 'God took the picture' (1999-2000). This work was inspired by the life of Southall's granddaughter, Rachel. Includes 2 x 3.5 inch discs annotated 'Picture working disks'. Bound typescript of third draft (1987) of a screenplay by Noel Robinson based on Southall's book, 'Hill's end' which was first published in 1962. Photocopy of a musical score of a Japanese musical play, based on Hill's end, 1981. Notebooks, including one annotated 'Idea book', containing notes dating from 1948-1985. Bibliography of Southall's published works, as at Jun 1986
Immediate source of acquisition:
The papers were purchased by the National Library from Ivan Southall in two instalments in 1977 and 1997. Further papers were received in 2008, 2009, 2012,2013, 2015 and 2017.
