- This series comprises talks, reviews, speeches, itineraries and related correspondence. Subjects include book of the year acceptance speeches; bush brothers in the outback, Australian Volunteers Abroad; the private world of the writer and writing for children. The correspondents include Community Aid Abroad, the Australian Red Cross Society, the University of New South Wales, the University of British Columbia, the Adelaide Festival of the Arts, the Australian Society of Authors, the Literature Board, the Children's Book Council, the International Students Centre and the South Australian Fellowship of Writers.
- Immediate source of acquisition:
- The papers were purchased by the National Library from Ivan Southall in two instalments in 1977 and 1997. Further papers were received in 2008, 2009, 2012,2013, 2015 and 2017.
