In December 1992, Nadja Wheatley atttended the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Writers' Workshop at Brambruk Cultural Centre on the recommendation of Kevin Cook, Director of Tranby Aboriginal Cooperative. Wheatley attended as "sort of liaison person" from the Australian Society of Authors. Wheatley was subsequently invited by Jackie Huggins to attend the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island Women Writers' Conference, Brisbane, in September 1993.
Immediate source of acquisition:
The original consignment was purchased by the Library in 1996. Further papers were donated in 2004 and purchased in 2005, 2008 and 2017.
