- The majority of documents concern Reynolds work in her Ministerial capacity, especially the development of the Hawke Government's National Agenda for Women. Also present are documents on other issues of the day, including Aboriginal Land Tenure issues. Administrative records concerning staffing of Reynolds' office are also present. Most records are Commonwealth government records; a number of the documents are annotated in Reynolds' and others' hands. A smaller group of documents - mostly Commonwealth government records - dates from the tenure of Senator Susan Ryan, Reynolds' predecessor in the position (pile 5). The series also includes runs of newsletters from various women's groups, including Oswoman, Women's Consultative Council and WEL.
- Immediate source of acquisition:
- The original consignment was donated to the National Library by Margaret Reynolds under the Taxation Incentives for the Arts Scheme in 2000. Further papers were added by Margaret Reynolds in 2009.
