Content Summary:
This small series comprises documentation relating to the experiences of Australian Indigenous people in relation to the legal system and prisons. Included are letters sent to Reynolds by Indigenous prisoners about racial conflict and riots at the Townsville Correctional Centre, 1991, and documentation of Reynolds' advocacy with authorities about individual prisoners.
Immediate source of acquisition:
The original consignment was donated to the National Library by Margaret Reynolds under the Taxation Incentives for the Arts Scheme in 2000. Further papers were added by Margaret Reynolds in 2009.
