- Murdoch was at one time the manager of the pianist Roger Woodward and he later worked closely with him in establishing Music Rostrum. Woodward resigned as Musical Director of Music Rostrum in 1976. The series contains an important group of letters of Woodward, many of them written while he was living in Poland. Other correspondents include Frank Barnes, Kim Williams, Rex Hobcroft, Stuart Thompson and Justin McDonnell. Other papers concerning Woodward can be found in Series 14.
