- 'New Directions' was a series of 101 performances of Australian and international contemporary and experimental music held in Sydney in September 1988. It was sponsored by the Australian Bicentennial Authority and administered by Musica Viva. Murdoch was the Artistic Director. The files that he assembled contain circulars, correspondence, reviews, programs, financial papers, press releases, reports and photographs. The correspondents include Miriam Hyde, Peter Sculthorpe, Michael Dewis and Philip Henry.
