Component identifier:
Series 17
Content Summary:
Files in this series contain papers accumulated by Feith, which relate broadly to a range of issues associated with world peace. The papers comprise correspondence, notes, cuttings and writings by others. There are papers from a workshop conducted in Melbourne by Elise Boulding in 1987 at which Feith gave a lecture. There are also papers and correspondence from a workshop entitled 'Despair and Empowerment in the Nuclear Age' conducted by Joanna Rogers Macy in Melbourne in 1985 and to the Macy Discussion Group, which was formed following the workshop. There are also files relating to the Victorian Association for Peace Studies (VAPS) and to peace studies at Monash University, including the establishment of a Centre for Peace and World Order Studies. Feith's file titles are used in the file descriptions.
Immediate source of acquisition:
The bulk of the papers were donated to the Library in 2002 by Herb Feith's widow, Betty, and his son, David Feith. Also in 2002, smaller groups of papers were donated by Professor John Legge, Dr Gerry van Klinker and Daniel S. Lev.
