- This series covers Humble's birth in Geelong through boyhood and schooling in Melbourne, where the family moved when Humble was five, ending with his departure from Melbourne to London in 1949 on an Australian Music Examination Board Commonwealth scholarship. Humble was a child prodigy whose first public performance on the piano was at eight years of age. The series includes: Australian Music Examination Board certificates and exam results from 1936 to 1947; handwritten and undated adjudicator's reports for various musical competitions held in Melbourne together with award certificates; and London College of Music (Melbourne) certificates and exam results. There is a scrapbook of newspaper reviews and concert and recital programs and some personal memorabilia including family photographs, a birth certificate extract, baptism certificate and other personal memorabilia.
