Component identifier:
Subseries
Content Summary:

The material contained within this subseries represent a form of record keeping of Nolan's artistic oeuvre and consist of photographic prints, Polaroids, negatives and transparencies of his artworks.

Many of the Black and White enlargements appear to be photographed and printed by professional photographers and a large portion have labels on the verso from a variety of commercial galleries.

In most cases, the dates included in this subseries refer to the date of the artworks rather than the date the photographs were taken.

Processing information:
Many of the black and white photographs of artworks arrived at the National Library in very poor condition, showing evidence of water damage and damp storage conditions. These particular photographs were stuck together, curling at the edges and showing signs of mould and were treated by the Library's specialist Preservation team.As a result of this treatment, some of the emulsion, along with some labels on the verso of the photographs, have come away from the surface.
