Soon after Glynn arrived in Kapunda to set up a branch office for Hardy and Davis, he became editor of the Kapunda Herald. He held this position from April 1883 to October 1891 and became widely known for his editorials on South Australian politics. Many were republished in the Adelaide Register.
The series contains five books of clippings on Glynn's editorials. The clippings date from April 1887 to October 1891. A cutting for October 1914, commemorating the Jubilee of the Kapunda Herald, is also included.
- Immediate source of acquisition:
- The Glynn papers were received between 1958 and 1973 from Mrs J. O'Collins, Father G. O'Collins and Mrs J.S. Peters of Melbourne and Mr Aiden McMahon Glynn of Ireland. The marriage proposal from Glynn to Abigal Dynon was presented by Professor Maev O'Collins and Moira Peters in 1996.
