Series DO 35

1050 items
Content Summary:

Correspondence of the Dominions Office relating to Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, Newfoundland and the Irish Free State with that of the South African High Commission and Southern Rhodesia.

The documents filmed selectively by the Australian Joint Copying Project cover diverse range of topics including trade relations, migration, atomic energy, Coronation of George VI, and expeditions to the Antarctic.

The Dominions Office files for the years 1943–1946 were transferred to the Public Record Office in two stages. Those files originally classified as 'secret' are listed following those which were not classified. DO 35 pieces 1110–1231 should be read together with DO 35 pieces 1232–2125. In most cases the prefix letters appear in both sections of the list.
