Correspondence of the Overseas Settlement Department and Office and minutes of the Overseas Settlement Committee. Subjects of records filmed selectively by the Australian Joint Copying Project include British Government Representatives in Australia, training and settlement schemes relating to Australia, Canada, Southern Rhodesia and New Brunswick.
This Series is a continuation of CO 721. In 1925 the Overseas Settlement Department and the Overseas Settlement Committee were transferred from the Colonial Office to the Dominions Office. In 1936 the department ceased to exist as a separate entity and the committee was replaced by the Overseas Settlement Board.
Minutes of the meetings of the Overseas Settlement Board 1936–1939 are in D.O.114/89–90, also filmed by the AJCP.
