Items selected for filming by the AJCP include: letters about Hobart Observatory, Antarctic and Arctic Expeditions, colonial observatories, copies of correspondence to and from Magnetic Department and letters of Sir James Clark Ross, Sir John Franklin, Sir John Herschel, J. H. Kay and others.
The AJCP filmed only select extracts from all pieces with the exception of pieces 18,44 and 45.
