Original consignment received February 2018, 1948-1982

Component identifier:
Class 1
Content Summary:
The consignment includes tins and small envelopes from the estate of Sidney Nolan inscribed with "Central Australia 1948", that originally housed 35 mm negatives from Sidney Nolan's trip through Central Australia. Damian Smith obtained the negative housing when he worked as the inaugural archivist for the estate of Sidney Nolan and was later assigned the publishing rights by Lady Mary Nolan to Sidney Nolan's photographs from the years 1949-1952. The negatives remain the property of the estate of Lady Mary Nolan and do not form part of the Papers of Sidney Nolan held at the National Library at MS 10245. Also included in the collection is a post-production script for the film "Sidney Nolan: an Australian dream" - a co-production between Don Bennetts and the Australian Broadcasting Commission, 1982 which was given to Damian Smith from Don Bennetts.
